Can Conservatives Really Get Behind McCain?

It looks very much as if John McCain will be our presidential nominee for 2008. This basically means that, whether it's Hillary or Obama, the Democrats will take over completely next January.

There is simply no way McCain can win the election without the backing of conservatives in his own party. For years, he's thumbed his nose at us and what we stand for. Now, he expects us to come out in droves and reward him for his disloyalty? Think again, my friend. Everything from his stances on immigration to campaign finance reform, to the Bush tax cuts to the gang of 14 seals his fate as the big loser come November, no matter how much ass-kissing he does from now until then.

I believe very strongly in my duty to vote. When the time comes, I'll go to the voting booth, but I'll be damned if I'll pull the lever for that old fart. I'll write in a candidate. I can't vote for a Democrat, but I have no problem letting the Democrats take power for the next four years. We Republicans pissed every opportunity to do what was right down our leg since 2000, so now we can reap the whirlwind for a while.

Your thoughts? Do blind conservatives even exist?

You know, the republican do stand behind Senator John Mccain, we need to get the job done in Irack first before we do anything else.
George Walker Bush spasifically that "If we were to pool our trops out of Irack right now, Irack would have said that we have let them down.

they exist all right, I am a very righted individual almost radical. I am a social libertarian, but mcCain was one of the better ones, I think.

I might have been more sincere in my vote for McCain if he hadn't chosen Sarah Palin as his running mate. I'm all for a female Vice President or even a female President but I never liked her. I listened to a lot of interviews with her and she just didn't seem to have a clue what the hell she wanted. I remember one interview where she was discussing a love of reading magazines, newspapers and political journals and things like that, well lots of subjects really. And she couldn't be bothered to name just one when she was asked. Uhm...all of them? Well just name one. Well all of them really. And then all that money spent on clothes.
